After a sneak peek at Suzannah’s new collection, we wanted to introduce you to the lady behind the dresses to covet:

How would you describe your most current collection, what were the inspirations?
Slick, tailored, immaculate, well cut; inspired by Parisian Marais Chic. The understated elegance of evening cafe culture taken through to the glamour and style of a Parisian night out in the 1950s.

Do you have a favourite item within your AW collection, available now?
The Ultimate Shift in Blood Red. It is the best fit, it can be worn to any event, it’s smart, lightweight, immaculate, sexy and sporty. The Italian lightweight wool crepe is quite an exact intense blood red, a colour which I am loving from AW12.

Suzannah; use three words to describe yourself:
Perfectionist, Driven, Happy

Happy we like. What has been your highlight within your work life in the last 6 months?
Getting into Harvey Nichols with the AW cocktail couture line.

What is the driving force that gives you the desire to succeed?
I am fiercely competitive. (with myself!)

What’s your favourite city in the world?
London

Where’s your favourite London hotspot?
For the evening: The Dean Street Townhouse. For weekend cycles: The tow path from Hammersmith. Weekday early mornings: The Southbank.

What song do you turn on in moments of work life pressure? Here at TRACE we love a bit of Jackie Wilson: Reet Petitie.

What most excites you about womenswear?
It’s ever evolving and women are really willing to experiment with new shape. I love re-inventing sculptured shapes which are fun and ultimately flattering.

You had a strong presence at Ascot with lots of fashion friends wearing Suzannah; did you get to go to Ascot this Summer?
Hahaha! Nope! On each day we were floor to ceiling in hat boxes and last minute dress ‘needs!’ it was crazy! Good crazy. Everyday morning until late at night we are flat out at work this time of year.

What’s next for Suzannah? What can we expect for next season?
Next season has had a great response and orders written from a beautifully prestigious shop already. We are exhibiting in Paris and Japan for the first time. The fabrics, colours and silhouettes are beautiful; totally already excited about next season’s collection.
