Friday 14th September 2012 saw Jean-Pierre Braganza showcase his SS13 collection ‘Phoenetheus’ at London Fashion Week. From Vogue.co.uk:
“Envelope-neck jumpsuits, cut-out dresses and dropped-crotch trousers were all cut in a ‘part block colour, part print’ design, while dipped-hem shifts were appliquéd with shimmering beadwork in graphic formation.
As ever, the silhouettes kept close to the contours of the body, evoking an understated sexiness in even the most feminine of looks. Origami-like pleats and layers were, as they should be, paper-thin and delicate, which, contrasted with razor-sharp edges and structured shoulders, created that covetable ‘elegance with an edge’ aesthetic that always proves so popular with the fashion pack.
Beautiful and inspirational indeed. The roar at his appearance on the runway after the finalé showed that the audience agreed – an appreciation that was whole-heartedly earned. This was an accomplished collection, and one that is sure to make an appearance on many fashion editors’ rails next season.”
